Fred Morris

Fred Arvle Morris II, age 67, of Williston, FL, was born on September 9, 1959, in Arkansas to Paul Morris and Elaine Van Velzen. He went to Heaven on October 17, 2026, while in hospice at home, after battling pancreatic cancer.

Fred entered the United States Navy right out of high school at age 17. After 21 years of dedicated service, he retired. Fred later proudly served for nearly 18 years as an officer with the Williston Police Department. He was honored to meet and help so many people throughout his years of service to Levy County.

After 38 years of protecting and serving, Fred retired and enjoyed spending time with his family, working on the farm, hunting, fishing, and forging knives. But most of all, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and niece.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Morris and Elaine Van Velzen; his son, Fred Craddock; his brothers, Scott Morris and Paul Morris; and his sisters, Robin Morris and Cheryl Voorhees.

He is survived by his loving wife, Colette Morris; his sons, Cecil "Andy" Morris and Rodney Morris; his grandchildren, Amy (Kyle) DeBlassie and Enrique Morris; and his brothers, Marc Morris and David Morris. He will also be greatly missed by his wife's family, especially his niece Chrissy, as well as by many close friends.

Fred was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. There won't be another like him!

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Weems & Sons Funeral Homes, 512 E. Noble Ave., Williston, FL 32696. Parking is available on the east side of the chapel, between Weems & Sons Funeral Homes and Williston Home Furnishings. Reverend Charlz Caldwell will officiate the service.
