Linwood “Lenny” Elyart Shouse

June 1, 1957 – September 22, 2026

Linwood Elyart Shouse, a devoted husband, loving father, and deeply faithful man, passed away on September 22, 2026 at the age of 69.

Born in Hialeah, Florida, on June 1, 1957 and grew up in Miami, he eventually moved to Ocala, Florida, in 1985, and he built a beautiful life and rooted his family in Bronson, Florida in 1986.

Lenny was the epitome of a hard-working man. His family was his greatest pride, and he spent his life ensuring they always had exactly what they needed, never letting them go without. He was a pillar of strength—unwavering in the face of adversity, and a man who simply never gave up when life got hard. Above all, Lenny loved God, and his faith guided the resilience and deep integrity with which he lived his life, loudly and freely.

For 43 beautiful years, Lenny was completely devoted to the love of his life, his wife, Alma. Together, they built a legacy of love, commitment, and endurance.

Lenny was preceaded in death by his parents, Howard Elyart Shouse and Weidus Leo Shouse and survived by his beloved wife, Alma Shouse; his four children, Joseph Morrison Jr., Weidus Shouse (Cris),  Lucille Nathansen (Tony), and Linwood Shouse II (Amanda); his grandchildren Joseph III, Bryce, Tony II, Ashton, Lainey, Linwood “Trace” III; his 8 siblings, Jean Carol Harley, Sally Lucille Parker, Jim Shouse (Cindy), Dianne Moody, Vickie Smith (Ronnie, d. August 2024), Howard Shouse (Barbara), Susie Meyers, and Patty Runion (Donnie), and lots of loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Lenny’s unwavering spirit, provider’s heart, and deep devotion to his family and faith leave an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in the family he so fiercely loved and protected.
