Obituary

Kimberly Adams Burkett, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and successful businesswoman passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025. She was 68 years old. Kim was born in Miami, Florida on June 7, 1957 to her parents Herbert and Jennie Adams.

Kim loved to travel to the mountains, the sweetness of a Georgia Peach, and cooking for her family. She had a special love for flowers and was the owner of Fernwood Flowers and Gifts in Chiefland. Once you were Kim's customer she thought of you as family, she put her heart and creativity into every flower arrangement and loved to see the joy and smile on their face when they received it.

A Graveside service will be held at the Rosemary Hill Cemetery in Bronson on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Weems & Sons Funeral Home in Chiefland.

The day I met Kim was at a flower shop in Newberry. The moment we spoke I knew she was a special person. She prepared the flowers for me in such a thoughtful way. I was pleased we welcomed her in as family from day one and she was there for every important event. In personal times you could call on Kim and she would do her best to help with guidance or advice trying not to involve her personal feelings. A rare gem. She will be truly missed and remembered. Sincere condolences to her family

Ms. Kim was always so sweet. She was a good friend. I always enjoyed going by to see her or when she delivered flowers to the funeral home. Praying for her girls!

Kim was my staunchest supporter and we talked almost everyday. She was the most unselfish woman I knew. She was so very proud of her daughter's and grandchildren. She was filled with joy to have seen her granddaughter Mylee graduate from High school and EMT school. She took pleasure in helping all her family and friends in many ways. She was so excited to have her new home adjacent to her daughter and son in-laws home. She enjoyed cooking dinner on days her daughter was working. Kim was a very generous and kind hearted lady that was always very thoughtful and full of encouragement. She was taken from us much too soon and will be deeply missed by us all. My sincerest condolences to her family and many friends. I pray God will comfort us all during this time of grieving the lost of this wonderful, beautiful, loving and delightful lady.
