Obituary

After 98 remarkable years, our beloved grandmother passed away, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, stories, strong opinions, and more than a little bit of stubbornness.

She was a feisty, independent woman who lived life on her own terms. She didn’t want much help from anyone—and heaven forbid you insist on giving it to her. She was strong-willed, determined, and occasionally a little angry, but underneath that tough exterior was a woman who loved her family deeply.

Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She allowed Philip and Rebekah Pennypacker to help her when she needed it, which, for anyone who knew her, was no small honor. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Hannah and Chad, who lived farther away but remained an important part of her family and her life.

She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, leaving behind great-great-grandchildren who will carry pieces of her with them.

She loved gardening and could spend hours tending to her plants. She also lovingly—or perhaps patiently—tolerated fishing trips with her husband, Bob Pennypacker, while he was alive. We imagine she enjoyed the time together more than she ever admitted.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob; her two sons, Kurt and Bobby; and her daughter-in-law, Patty.

Her life was long, colorful, and entirely her own. She taught us that you can be independent, opinionated, determined, and still love your family fiercely.

Ninety-eight years is a remarkable journey. She leaves behind generations of family, countless memories, and plenty of stories that will be told for years to come.

Rest peacefully, Grandma. We’ll miss you, even if you probably would have told us we were making too much fuss over you.

Arrangements are under the care of Weems & Sons Funeral Homes in Chiefland, FL.
