Obituary

Beacy Leon Adams
August 10, 1943 – October 6, 2026

Beacy Leon Adams, 83, of Chiefland, Florida, passed away on October 6, 2026. He was born on August 10, 1943, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late Beacy Jack Adams and Lillie Mae Patterson Adams.

Leon was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend whose life was marked by hard work, dedication, and the love he shared with those around him. He was married to his beloved wife, the late Jane Alford Adams, and together they shared a life filled with family, memories, and love.

Leon was a skilled cabinet maker and spent many years working at Columbus Cabinet Shop. He took pride in his work and in the ability to create something lasting with his own hands. His craftsmanship was a reflection of his patience, determination, and attention to detail.

After retiring, Leon discovered a new joy in vegetable gardening. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to his garden, watching things grow, and taking pride in the fruits of his labor. Gardening became a meaningful part of his retirement and brought him great happiness.

He is survived by his sisters, Virginia Rosamond Hancock and her husband, Bruce Hancock, and Bettina Bankhead, as well as extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Leon was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane Alford Adams; his son, Steven Leon Adams; his parents, Beacy Jack Adams and Lillie Mae Patterson Adams; and his brother, Thomas Paul Adams.

Those who knew Leon will remember him not only for the work of his hands, but for the person he was and the simple joys he found in life. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love and memories he leaves behind will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Leon will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Details will be announced when arrangements are finalized.

Arrangements are under the care of Weems & Sons Funeral Homes in Chiefland, FL.
