James Douglas Thompson
James Douglas Thompson, 63, passed away on November 3rd, 2026, in the comfort of his home. James was born in Sanford, Florida on October 21st, 1963, to the late Douglas and Shirley Thompson. He attended DeLand High School, where he later graduated. He was a line locator with the City of Altamonte Springs for about 30 years, where he later retired. James thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, was constantly entering fishing tournaments and teaching others anything he could about fishing. He loved being surrounded by his family and would never turn down a gathering that involved good food and friends. James loved building and working with his hands as well.

He is survived by his sisters, Frances Thompson, Beverly List, Sharon Mills, Diania Oakley, Tammy Thompson and son, Mathew Thompson. As well as a host of many other friends and family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Shirley Thompson and sister, Lori Towns.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a date that is to be determined.

Arrangements are entrusted to Weems & Sons Funeral Home of Chiefland, Florida.
