Obituary

Timothy Alonzo Walters, 78, of Bronson, Florida, passed away on May 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 3, 1947, in Tampa, Florida, Timothy was the cherished son of Janie Mildred Wilson and Sam Washington Walters.

Timothy was a man of many passions and talents. A former racecar driver and skilled boxer, he lived life with boldness and drive. He was a proud servant of his community and his faith—serving as a minister to Native Americans and acting as the Florida State Representative for Indian Falls Creek in Davis, Oklahoma, a role through which he built lasting relationships and impacted countless lives. He was also a gifted woodcarver, finding joy and peace in working with his hands. He was the Chief of the Econfina People in Perry, FL, where he proudly preserved and upheld his Native heritage. He was also a member of Otter Creek Baptist Church. Whether outdoors, fishing, hunting, playing his guitar, going on mission trips, gardening, or simply spending time with those he loved, Timothy embraced life with strength and heart. He was a courageous man, known for his unwavering faith, his deep love for family and friends, and his ability to bring laughter and wisdom to those around him.

Among his proudest accomplishments was his role in the restoration of the Bronson Speedway, a project close to his heart. Above all, Timothy will be remembered as a loving Daddy and "Pa"- a pillar of strength, kindness, and love whose legacy will live on in every life he touched.

Timothy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Betty Lou Walters, his parents, and his sister, Helen Raulerson.

He is survived by his four devoted daughters: Wendy (Chuck) VanOrder, Shari Jabbar, Tammy (Darryl) McGinnes, and Helen (Allen) Burch. His legacy continues through his 14 grandchildren—Bethany, Clarinda, Shelby, Shasheila, Seph, Amber, Jared, Jordan, Mariah, Andrew, Crystal, Amanda, TJ, and Darryl Jr.—as well as 22 great-grandchildren, with three more on the way: Hank, Carter, Jasper, Lynleigh, Emmalynn, Garrison, Adalyn, Karson, Easton, JC, Jolien, Josie Mae, Luke, Liliana, Jocelyn, Caden, Allison, Ashtyn, Valor, Liam, Darryl III, and Charlotte. Also, a sister Faye (Chuck) Pennington and a brother Sam Walters. Timothy will be remembered for his strength, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and community. He leaves behind a rich legacy of faith, resilience, and love.

A viewing will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at the Otter Creek Baptist Church starting at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tim Campbell officiating. Burial will be held at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery in Shady Grove, Florida at 3:30 PM
