Obituary
Betty Louise Smith, 90, of Williston, FL, passed away peacefully at home on May 1st, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cumberland, Maryland, in 1934, Betty spent the majority of her life in Geneva, Ohio, before settling in Williston, where she lived for the past 25 years.
A devoted Christian, Betty's unwavering faith was at the heart of everything she did. Known for her compassion and deep love for Jesus, she had a special gift for prayer. Wherever she went, Betty found someone in need of encouragement or spiritual support. She served as a counselor with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association during their Cleveland, Ohio crusade in the late 1990s, helping countless individuals find their path to Christ. A proud member of the Church of God, Betty was always ready—day or night—to pray with anyone who called upon her.
Betty found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching the birds in her backyard, painting, singing, and playing the piano. Her gentle spirit and mischievous grin were often on display as she slipped sweet treats to her beloved dogs, bringing laughter and warmth to those around her.
She is survived by her children: daughter Debbie Moscorelli; sons Bobby (Lovajean) Smith and Shawn (Sherri) Smith. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Richard and Jamie (Maria) Moscorelli; Shawn Jeffery (Tori), Michael (Candice), and Johnathan (Kaylee) Smith; Teia (Rocky) McGatha and Leah (Nathan) McCurdy. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Makayla, Shelby, and Rylie Moscorelli; Toria Smith; Willow and Zaniyah McGatha; Atlas and Oliver Smith; and Nathaniel McCurdy. Betty is also survived by her sister, Evelyn Bennett, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rister and Sarah Lepley, and her siblings: Juanita, Clara, Ann, Marion, Edith, Sylvester, Mahlon, Paul, and Sam.
Betty's legacy of faith, kindness, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 3:00 PM, a service to follow at 4:00 PM with Brother Jim Waldron officiating.
