Carl Johnson Wilson, a resident of Chiefland, Florida passed away on May 7, 2025 in Mayo at the age of 75. Carl was born on June 24, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Isaac & Hazel Wilson. Carl came from a large family of fifteen siblings. He proudly served in the United States Army-Airborne for two and a half years, eighteen months of which he served in Vietnam. Mr. Wilson was a firefighter for Cleveland Hopkins Airport and also worked as a furniture mover for Dussalt Moving & Friedrick Moving before retiring. He enjoyed self-taught woodworking and watching TV. Carl was a member of the Moose Post 325 (Legend Member), VFW Post 5625 (Past-Commander), Amvets Post 422 and the Mason's Brown Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Susan L. Teater Wilson, children, Kimberly Watkins (Steve) and Carl Wilson (Mary). Grandchildren, Miranda Bogard (Tyler), Ashley & Jacob (Jake) Wilson, Great-Grandchild, Theodore (Teddy) Bogard. He leaves behind many nieces & nephews.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 14, 2024 at Weems & Sons Funeral Home, 715 West Park Avenue, Chiefland, FL 32626 at 9:30 AM. Pastor Kent Zimmerman officiated and Military Honors were performed at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida where Carl was laid to rest.
