Obituary

Alberto Peña Peña passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Community Hospice Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring in Jacksonville, Florida. Alberto was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, on July 8, 1940, to his parents Nestor Peña and Adelaida Peña. He was 84 years old.


A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many with his wisdom, love, and faith. Alberto was a family man. He was married to Rebeca Siaca de Pena and was preceded by him in death on March 14, 2025. They were married for 62 years.

Alberto was a law enforcement officer and sergeant, totaling 30 years in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. He took a lot of pride in his work and was highly respected by the community he served and his entire department.


He loved sports, but baseball was his favorite. His favorite team was the New York Yankees. A recent sports memory that will never be forgotten is when Alberto, with a burst of energy, rose and cheered for the Florida Gator Basketball team when they won the 2025 National Championship.

Alberto is survived by his children, Alberto Peña Siaca Jr. (Iris), Rebeca Savona (John), and Nestor M. Peña Siaca (Angelica); grandchildren Tanahiriana Peña Guzman, Nestor E. Peña Gonzalez (Leisdi), Brandon A. Savona, Nesmarie Peña Gonzalez (Deyve), Marynes Peña Gonzalez; great-grandchildren Nestor A. Peña Morales and Amir A. Morales Peña.


A Memorial Service will be held at Queen of Peace in Gainesville, Florida on Saturday May 31, 2025 at 11:00 am. 


Arrangements are entrusted to Weems & Sons Funeral Homes, 512 East Noble Avenue Williston, Florida 32696.
