Archie Shaw
April 21, 1930 - April 09, 2025
Obituary
Archie William Shaw, 94 of Bronson, Florida took Jesus' hand and went on to Glory, April 9, 2025. Jesus took him home while he was outside, with his daughter, Joyce close by. God gave Joyce 7 months with dad until he left this world and is forever grateful!
He was born in Beloit, Wisconsin to Archie Henry Shaw and Mary ILene (Maxson) Shaw. Graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1948, where he was also in the ROTC. He married Thelma May Stumm, in Dubuque, Iowa, February 21, 1948. They had 62 years together and were blessed with four children.
Archie and Thelma both made a commitment to the Lord in 1963. Two of us kids were saved a year before. And so that was the beginning of DAD‘s long walk with the Lord. We decided as a family to start attending Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Archie served the Lord there in many ways, as Sunday school teacher, board member, elder, bus ministry, and wherever else God needed.
In 2008 they moved to Bronson, Florida where they attended Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Williston. In 2019 he started attending Bronson New Living Hope Church, with his companion, Ms. Donnie Lindsey. Dad and Ms. Donnie had a cooking ministry and also a Friday night Bible Study with some wonderful friends.
Dad was not one to be fuzzed over, but he fuzzed over the ones he loved. He wanted to see everyone have a relationship with Jesus. He led Ms. Donnie to the Lord and many more. He touched everyone that he met. Pastor Chris and Tara Tucker, along with all his friends at New Living Hope Church, thank you for the love and fellowship you have shown our father over the years. You have been such a Blessing!
He loved to feed the squirrels and birds. He started every morning, with a cup of coffee, watching the squirrels play. He loved it when his kids would check in with him.
Archie is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Shaw; his parents; and two sisters. He is survived by his four children Michael Shaw (Lamona) - Greenup, Kentucky; Joyce Malmquist - Beloit, Wisconsin; Douglas Shaw (Sebrena) has - Williston, Florida; Tonya Mann (Stephen) - Johnstown, Pennsylvania 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great grandchildren and 2 more beautiful great-great grandbabies born on May 1st and May 5th. Of course, I have to mention all of the foster children who have blessed our families through the years.
The Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 22 at 2:00 PM at the Church.
