Rodney Wade
June 18, 1964 - March 14, 2025
Obituary
Rodney Wade, surrounded by his family, entered the gates of heaven on March 14, 2025. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on June 18, 1964, to William and Shirley Wade, Rodneys journey took him to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he graduated from Northeast High School in 1982. He later moved to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University, where he earned a business degree.
After college, Rodney relocated to Orlando, where he met the love of his life, Kalee Leonard, at the First Baptist Church of Orlando. They married in 1995, and together they started a mortgage business in Oviedo, Florida. Rodney and Kalee were blessed with two children, Jacob and Kristen. In 2005, the family moved to Chiefland, Florida, where Rodney opened Wade Custom Homes. The familys blessings continued with the birth of their third child, Savannah.
Rodney retired in 2021, after years of dedicated work, and spent his retirement enjoying his passionsgolfing, fishing, and spending time with his growing family.
Rodney is survived by his parents, William and Shirley Wade; his wife of 30 years, Kalee; his son Jacob (Lauren Wade); his daughter Kristen (Rip Trowell); his daughter Savannah; and his grandson, Harrison. He is also survived by his brother William (Valerie) and several extended family members, including his niece Kaitlyn and nephews Andrew and Preston.
A service to celebrate Rodneys life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Chiefland. Visitation with the family will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Ellzey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Rodneys memory to the Harmony Pregnancy Center or The Arc of Levy County. The family also expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Haven Hospice, especially Rodneys nurse, Nancy, for their exceptional care during his final days.

Rodney was family to me. We moved to Florida where we met and grew to love and cherish the friendship of Rodney and his brother and sister and parents. My sons Joey and Mike remember him well and have him in their prayers. He will be missed but remembered in love by all who knew him. He is a new star in the sky
