Obituary
Linda Gail "Gail" Yancy (nee Goodson), 70, passed away on February 27, 2025, in Chiefland, Florida. Born on June 13, 1954, in Gainesville, Florida, Gail was a woman of deep faith and quiet strength.
She dedicated over two decades of her life to nurturing young minds as a teacher at Nannas Place Academy. Her greatest joy came from caring for the babies and children entrusted to her, leaving a lasting impact on both them and their families.
Gail was a devoted Christian who held firm to her faith throughout her life. Raised in the Baptist tradition, she was an active member of both Bronson Baptist Church and Living Hope Church. She found great comfort in reading her Bible and spent much of her time immersed in scripture and books.
She is survived by her loving significant other of 27 years, Tommy Smith; her daughters Shawna Parton, Donna Parton Racino (Tony), and Kalisha Parton, her sisters Elizabeth Burke and Patricia Goodson; and a cherished legacy of grandchildren - Brandon Allen (Brittney), Caleb Baker (Heather), Harley Baker, Issac Baker, Devon Parton, Haylee Langford, Daloni Garcia, and Annalise Garcia. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Harmony Gosnell (Allen), Abigail Baker, Allie Baker, Everleigh Baker, Leenah Baker, Bentley Baker, and Wesley Allen. Additionally, she leaves behind several nieces, nephews, many cousins, and a multitude of friends who will remember her fondly.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lonnie and Linnie Goodson; her brother Lonnie Duane Goodson; brother-in-law Ronald Burke; and husbands Donald Parton and Ray Yancy.
Gail lived a simple yet meaningful life filled with love for her family and firm faith in Christ. She will be deeply missed by those who loved and knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the Rosemary Hill Cemetery in Bronson, Florida.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Knauff Funeral Home Chiefland.

Gail was a considerate and thoughtful sister-in-law, and I mourn her passing. I especially loved her smile and giggle when she laughed. I know you girls (&family) will forever feel her absence. So sorry for the loss of your mother. Love... Aunt Linda

I am so glad that Ashley Gosnell (Harmony's mom) & Tre' Hale were able to finally get your first great granddaughter Harmony Nicole Gosnell "Allen" to see You - Momma & that they got me there just in enough time to be able to hold your hand also before passing. Tony's SORRY that He wasn't able to make it in time to see you, but two important men in my life along with one son Harley-David Baker was there to help ME cope (along with many other loved ones) whom love & miss you just as much as the next person. I will see you in due time momma, but I I know til then that YOU, Daddy, (ALL of my grandparents) are all watching over each & every one of US.
