Oma Harrison

Oma Uldene Harrison passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville at age 95. He was born in Chiefland on March 11, 1929 to B.B. and Cora Harrison. He was a graduate of Chiefland High School and he joined the Navy for a short period of time after graduation. He was a lifetime member of Hardeetown Baptist Church and a true pillar of the Chiefland community. Oma owned and operated Harrison Hardware for many years and served as a volunteer on the Chiefland Fire Department and volunteered his time as an auxiliary police officer with the Chiefland Police Department. Oma also worked for the Chiefland Post Office as a mail carrier. Oma and his wife, Diane, shared a passion for square dancing and did so for many years. He also enjoyed fishing and planting a garden every year. Oma is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Clyde, and his wife Diane. He leaves behind his son Alan Oma Harrison, daughter-in-law Denise, five grandchildren: Leanne (Jacob) Kriser, Natalie (William) Couey, Christopher (Lisa) Harrison, Brittany Harrison and Julie Harrison, as well as four great grandchildren: Paisley, Hayden & Allyson Kriser and Millie Harrison in addition to two nieces: Sue and Cindy Harrison. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Knauff Funeral Home of Chiefland.
