Emily Warren Bartels, a resident of Chiefland, Florida passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2025. She was 95 years old. Emily was born on March 24, 1929 in Wauchula, Florida to her parents Wainwright and Ruth Warren. She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Chiefland. Emily is preceded in death by Bill Bartels. She also leaves behind 3 children Deloris Ovenden of Vermont, Nelson Arnold of Orlando, and Warren Arnold of Chiefland; 8 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on March 22, 2025 in Wauchula, Florida. Knauff Funeral home is honored to serve the Bartels family during their time of transition.

Emily was my cousin. My dad, William “Billy” Fields also grew up in Wauchula. when we visited my grandmother. Lillie Mae Fields, we always also visited Aunt Ruth (Emily’s mom). About a decade ago, Emily and i touched base and would talk about family every January as the new year began. She always had great memories to share. Ann Fields Lewis

Miss Emily was one of our favorite neighbors. When we bought our house in Chiefland she was a very frequent site in the neighborhood. Always out working in the yard. There was never a leaf that stood a chance of staying on the lawn. We would stop and chat when riding out bikes while she was out tending her flowers. She had so many flowers and I think my favorite and maybe hers was her Agapanthus. Her last years were challenging but she was a trooper. We will miss seeing her on our bike rides.
