The woman who sacrificed so much to raise me, when she didn't have to, finally left all this pain and suffering behind. She deserved better in the end. It wasn't easy to watch the strong person I knew become weak and powerless. Age comes for us all and so does death. Although I know she's doing better now it's still extremely sad and a loss.. Inside the home she built for us she was a different person than the world and other people knew. I knew a woman who was kind but firm. She was determined, hard working, and never complained. Sometimes I didn't understand or agree but I know everything she did came from a place of good intentions for me. I have no doubt she is proud of the woman and mother I am today. I owe a great debt to her. My life would not have been the same if she hadn't made the choice to step up when others didn't. I have loved you and will always love you Granny and I know I will see you again.

I wasn't there towards the end but hearing you thought someone else who was there was me gave me some comfort. You always saved a plate for me and a present under the tree no matter what. RIP Granny. I'm glad I was able to send you off with some flowers before they covered you up.

I had the privilege of being mom's caretaker and being there when she took her last breath. It was an honor to be there for her. I thank her church for everything they did for her. I thank all those who came to see her before she passed it meant a lot to her. I thank the funeral home for all they did. They were so good to me. She was loved and she knew it.So many memories.
