Stephen Burton Carter, a free man governed only by God, departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of boundless love and joy. Stephen embraced life with open arms, finding solace and adventure in nature. Whether hiking wooded trails, kayaking waters, cruising on his skateboard, riding his mountain bike , playing disc golf or simply walking barefoot on the earth alongside his pal Wiley, he lived with an unshakable connection to the outdoors. It was always a good day when you heard "Steve-o" singing; through the barn, where he managed an equestrian farm in Florida, in the house, in his truck, or wherever you were blessed to be with him. He loved music, going to concerts and singing. He always had a song in his heart and on his lips. You couldnt help but feel uplifted when you were with Stephen. A man of deep intellect and profound insight, Stephen was a listener whose heart brimmed with compassion. His family and friends were the cornerstone of his life, with his beloved mother holding a special place in his heart. As the youngest of six siblings, he brought an extraordinary light and energy to every gathering, earning him the cherished title of "The Worlds Best Uncle, Brother, Son, Friend." His kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Stephen's adventurous spirit knew no bounds. He found freedom on the open road aboard his Harley Davidson, exploring the country with an unmatched zest for life. His radiant smile could illuminate any room, and his actions spoke volumesworking hard and helping others in ways that truly transformed their lives and bringing glory to God. To those fortunate enough to know him, Stephen was not just a presence but a force of positivity, encouragement and inspiration. His love for life and those around him remains etched in the hearts of all who crossed his path. He lived the meaning of unconditional love in every way. May his memory be a beacon of light and a reminder to live fully and love fiercely. Steve will forever be remembered for the joy he brought into this world and the lives he touched so deeply. A service in celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Janes United Methodist Church in Rising Sun, Maryland.
