Alice Shipp

Alice Faye Shipp, lovingly known as "Banny" by her 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, at Tampa General Hospital. She was 83. Born on June 19, 1941, in Dunnellon, Florida, to John Henry and Alva Margarite Butler Shipp. She is survived by her 3 daughters and one son. Alice was the eldest of 11 siblings. She is preceded in death by her daughter Susan Albachten, her sister Barbara Bohlman, and her two brothers Paul and Wayne Smith. A faithful member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church for more than 50 years, she was active as a Sabbath School teacher and church clerk. She operated a home for Developmentally Disabled Adults for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, baking and sewing, often gifting her creations to loved ones. She leaves behind her partner William Strawn and many siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home in Chiefland.
