Ann Schimke

Ann Schimke, 79, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, cherished grandmother and adored great-grandmother, she leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and warmth. Born on August 5, 1945 in Highland Park, MI, Ann lived a life filled with purpose and joy. She was the beloved wife of Larry Schimke (2024 marked their 60th year wedding anniversary) with whom she shared a lifelong partnership rooted in love and mutual respect. Together, they raised three sons Larry Jr., Timothy (wife Kelli), and Terry (wife Sara) who were her pride and joy. Her family grew to include seven grandchildren, Christopher (wife Sophie), Corrissa, Jenna, Eric, Tarryn, Landon, and Amelia and five great-grandchildren, Yuri, Kyzer, Yuna, Ryker and Hallah, each of whom she showered with unconditional love and wisdom. Ann was known for her sharp mind and insatiable love of murder mysteries, often losing herself in the pages of a gripping book. She was forever in search of the perfect campfire and loved roasting marshmallows to the perfect shade of burnt. Owls held a special place in her heart, a symbol of her keen intellect and quiet strength. Her kitchen was always a haven of comfort, filled with the delicious aroma of home-cooked meals prepared with love. An accomplished card player, she was always up for a spirited game with family and friends, delighting in both the competition and the camaraderie. A true perfectionist, Ann kept a spotless home, a testament to her tireless work ethic and deep sense of pride in all she did. She approached every task with determination and grace, leaving behind a home and family that reflected her unwavering commitment. Ann will be remembered for her kindness, her warmth, and the countless memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will miss her deeply. A celebration of Anns life will be held on December 28, 2024 at the Hardeetown Methodist Cemetery, located at 10827 NW 64th Terrace, Chiefland, Fl. at 11:00am. She was the anchor of her family, the keeper of their stories, and the heart of their home. Her favorite color was purple and she will be profoundly missed but forever remembered.
