Obituary
Dennis "Edwin" Crabtree (Crab), a lifelong resident of Williston passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2024 surrounded by his daughters after an extended illness. He was 81 years old. Edwin was born on November 18, 1943 in Ocala, Florida to his parents Aubrey Eliken and Jennie Dell Crabtree. He is preceded in death by both of his parents. Edwin is survived by his five daughters Tracy Gagliardi (Ben) of Minooka, Illinios, Toni Prins (Alex) of Lecanto, Florida, Audrey Sikes Molenburg (Scott) of Lake City, Florida, Ginger Crabtree Diaz (Eric) of Williston, Florida and Jennifer Crabtree Sutton of Mayo, Florida. One sister Alice Faye Allen of Melrose, Florida. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren Sydney, Kurt, Trei, Ira IV, Joseph, Cody, Logan, Shawn, Luke, and Collin; along with eleven great grandchildren Calvin, Jefferson, Alyeska, Isla, Olivia, Summit, Ira V, Liam, Emmerson, Wesley and Josiah. Edwin is a Vietnam veteran and proudly served in the United States Air Force for 4 years as a Fire Protection Specialist. After his service in the Air Force, Edwin worked as an auto mechanic with his Uncle at Crabtrees Garage & Auto Parts. Edwin assumed ownership of Crabtrees Garage and worked there until the onset of his illness in 2021. He had a passion for hunting and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed being in the presence of nature, especially in the woods filling up his deer feeders, managing food plots or his many trail cameras and deer stands. He will be missed tremendously by his family and all who knew him. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, December 18th, 2024 from 6:00 8:00 pm at Knauff Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 20th, 2024 at the Orange Hill Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Brother Richard Harding. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Knauff Funeral Home Williston. Sending my deepest condolences to Ginger and the entire family during this tough time. Thank you, Ginger, for bringing Crabtree to visit my daddy in the hospital it meant more than words can say. Those old hunting camp days will always be cherished, and Crabtrees spirit will live on in all of us who were lucky enough to be part of them. Youre all in my thoughts, and prayers.
