Obituary
Thomas "Tommy" Andrew Pope, a resident of Williston, Florida passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. He was 75 years old. Thomas was born in Mcveigh, Kentucky on December 20, 1949. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents Olen Thomas Pope and Lou Wanna Pope; son Brandon Thomas Pope; brothers Olen Glen Pope "Glen" and William Michael Pope "Mike"; sisters Linda Kay Pope, Shirley Conley, and Tammy Lynn Pope. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Patricia "Trish" Pope; son Thomas "TA" Andrew Pope II; daughter Erica Whitlock (Jason); brother Glen Thomas Pope (Mary), sisters Connie Scott (Bucky), Lisa Justice (Homer), and Rosalie York (Paul). He also leaves behind five lovely grandchildren Kyler Cain, Kerrigan Cain, Marlee Whitlock, Cohen Whitlock, and Alissa Prater along with many other extended family members, nieces, nephews and friends. Tommy proudly served his country in the United States Army Special Forces and fought in the Vietnam War. He carried that pride every day of his life thereafter. Tommy was a horseman who bred and trained horses for many years. While he pursued other ventures, his love of horses never faded, which led to his retirement dream of having horses again. That dream became reality when he and his wife Trish purchased a home, land and horses in Williston. Their family was complete with their children, grandchildren, and Tommy's best friend Buddy his Great Pyrenees. Plans for Thomas's burial with full Military Honors at the Florida National Cemetery are underway. Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home Williston.
