Jean Bastanzi

On Tuesday, October 16, 2024, Jean Ruth Knapp Bastanzi, of Williston, Florida went home to her Lord, Blessed Mother, and beloved husband John. Jean lived 94 beautiful years with a strong will and devout faith, which allowed her to accomplish what many people said, "could not be done". Jean and her husband John were founding members of Holy Family Catholic Church and instrumental in the planning and building of the church. Jean and her husband John were members of the Marion Blue Army traveling on pilgrimages to Lourdes, France; Medjugorje, Bosnia; Fatima, Portugal; San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy; Mount Carmel Lisieux, France, where she received messages from the Blessed Mother through a Carmelite nun for herself and members of her family; and the Vatican, where she met Pope Saint John Paul II. She is survived by her four children, John Bastanzi, Jr. (Denise) of Crystal River, Florida, Brenda VanHoose (Dennis) of Beverly Hills, Florida, Debi Bastanzi of Williston, Florida, and Robin Bastanzi of Williston, Florida, 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband of 72 years, John Bastanzi, her son-in-law, Steve Arcangeli, three sisters, and six brothers. Jean lived in Williston, Florida for 54 years, after residing in Miami, Florida for 24 years. A viewing will be held at Knauff Funeral Home in Williston, Florida on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Williston, Florida on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with burial at Orange Hill Cemetery. Following the burial, a remembrance luncheon will be provided for guests and family at Holy Family Catholic Church.
