Margie Jones

Margie Jeanette Jones, 83, of Williston, Florida and residing in Ocala, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 5th, 2024. Margie was born at home in Chiefland to Wilbur and Doris Miller Griffin. She graduated from Williston High School in 1959. She worked at The Chick-Inn, the Florida Telephone Company as a long distance operator, she ran the Dairy Dip in Chipley, Florida, and worked with her husband Jerry Jones in the family business, Levy Jones, for years. Margie was a member of Williston Church of God, where she taught a children's Sunday School class for years. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Jerry Jones; daughter Donna (Tim) Rogers, sons Tommy (Celia) Tucker, Paul (Erin) Jones; grandchildren Colby (Bridgette) Rogers, Ashley (Chase) Tidwell, Breann (Catlin) Mixson, Ada Jones, and Elliot Jones; great-grandchildren Alistair, Lola, Payton, Hailey, Parker, Garrett, Gus, and Mary Lou; sister Jettie Brooks; brother Larry Griffin; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Harold Griffin, and sisters Marilyn (Johnny) Dugan and Virginia (Pat) Hartley. Margie loved God, her family and friends, and her church. She was a kind and gentle person and will be missed greatly. Our hope is in knowing we will see her again. There will be a viewing at 10:00 AM and service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Knauff Funeral Home in Williston, followed by a graveside service at Orange Hill Cemetery at 12:00 PM. Lunch will be served at First Baptist Church Williston Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the building fund of First Baptist Church of Silver Springs or to Marion County Hospice. Services will be performed by Pastor Wayne Hunter of Silver Springs First Baptist Church and Hospice Chaplain John Strachovsky.
