Linda Brooks

Linda Joyce Brooks, age 77, was called to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29th, 2026, after an ongoing illness. She was born December 19, 1948 in East Point, Georgia (Ft. McPhearson). She is preceded by her parents, B T and Mary Brooks, and sister Ann, brother James, and brother Eddie and nephew John.

She graduated from Jonesboro Senior High School in 1966. She retired from Bellsouth after 35 years of service. Linda lived in Cedar Key for many years and now resided in Chiefland.

She was a Charter Member of Cedar Key Fraternal Order of Eagles 4194 Auxiliary, later moved to Auxiliary 4216 in Ocala Forest, she is a member of VFW 5625 Chiefland, AmVet 42, Moose 325, and the American Legion 383.

She was an avid Bowler most of her life, she won many tournaments, she was inducted Into the Florida 500 Club Hall of Fame She bowled 35 years in the Women's National Tournaments and was recognized in 2025. She bowled all over the country. She also played Golf at Chiefland Golf and Country Club.

Linda is survived by her family Sierra Westrick (David), Latisha Sigman, niece Jamie Locklear, friend Jason Kratz all of Atlanta and their children. Linda was active at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Chiefland.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on April 11th, 2026 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Chiefland, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour prior for a visitation. Interment will take place at Cedar Key Cemetery from 1:45 – 2:15 pm. Following the interment, a celebration of life will be held at 5:00 pm at VFW 5625 in Chiefland, Florida.
