Robert Moody

Robert "Bobby/Bob" Felix Moody, age 70 went to be with the Lord on the evening of Monday, July 15, 2024. Robert was born on October 20, 1953 in Gainesville, Florida to Robert Alexander and Marie Violet Lovett. He attended Bronson High School where he played center in the 6-man football team and was a four year letterman. Bobby was an avid FFA member, and enjoyed acting in plays as leading roles. He had a deep passion for music and loved to sing, play guitar and write songs. After graduating in 1971 Bobby went on to work as a telephone lineman and later had a long career in Radio Broadcasting. He managed WLQH in Chiefland for over a decade and for over 20 years had a morning show and worked at WIND-FM Classic Rock 92.5 and K-Country 93.7 FM. Bobby was a jack of all trades and was known as the man who could fix anything. He also worked on outboard motors, coached baseball, deejayed weddings and events. He enjoyed playing Santa during the holidays every year for his family and community. He continued his passion for acting, singing, and playing guitar with the Suwannee Valley Players, and shared his love for music with everyone. In his retirement, Bob enjoyed taking his family and friends on his pontoon boat on the Suwannee River. He loved to travel, camp, grill, and visit with family and friends. Bob was the vice president at the Lake City Humane Society and chaired committees and worked in fellowship at the Living Faith Community Church. He sang for several local community groups and laughed often, bringing smiles to everyone who knew him. Bob leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Nancy; children Danielle (Glen), and Elizabeth (Jimmy); brother Horace (Laura); grandchildren, Tristin (Elise), Tyler, Sierra (Dylan), Sieray, Elise, Jamilet, Jimmy and great grandchild Cash. He leaves six stepchildren, uncles, aunts, cousins, many beloved friends and Boy Scout Troop members. He is preceded in death by both of his parents Robert Alexander and Marie Violet Lovett along with his brother Morris. Bob lived a full life of joy, and laughter. Although he will be missed, his legacy lives on with each of us. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the Living Faith Community Church in Trenton with Reverend Dale Elzie officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lake City Humane Society. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Knauff Funeral Home in Chiefland.
