Obituary

Richard Dallas Warren (Rick) passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024 surrounded by his family. Rick is survived by his beloved bride of 51 years, Charlene Runck Warren, Daughters Leslie (Tommy) Redding, Rachel (Robert) Hurley, and Rebecca (Morgan) Boyd, grandchildren Felicity, Declan, Wren, Juniper, and Rowdy, sister Lori (Cary) Hadley, brother Curtis (Karen) Warren, Brother-in-law Thomas (Marilyn) Runck, Sister-in-law Debera (Gary) Killam, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson Donovan Redding, parents Wayne and Janet Warren, in-laws Thomas and Virginia Runck, nephew and niece Jacob and McKenzie Warren, and great nephew William Shepherd. Richard Dallas Warren (Rick) was born to Wayne Edwin Warren and Janet Arlene Myers Warren, on October 1st, 1952, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Rick grew up surrounded by extended family, and developed a love for cars and automotive racing from an early age. After graduating high school, Rick was drafted into the United States Army, and married his high school sweetheart Charlene Diane Runck. Rick served in the Army from 1972-1975 during the end of the Vietnam War. During his military service, he was stationed in Germany and south Florida. After leaving the Army, Rick and Charlene returned briefly to Ft. Lauderdale before moving to Williston, FL, in 1976. Rick worked as a Toyota Master Mechanic for 41 years before retiring in 2017. Rick enjoyed photography, fishing, and woodworking in his free time, but the true loves of his life were God, his family, and his church family at Glen Springs Church. Rick will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humor, creative talents, calm and quiet demeanor, and his love and devotion to his family and his God. A memorial service will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, June 22nd at Glen Springs Church of Christ in Gainesville, Florida, followed by a graveside service at Orange Hill Cemetery in Williston, Florida at 12:00 pm.
