Viola Carroll

Viola Dosha Carroll, 92, died unexpectedly June 24, 2024, at Shands Hospital. She was born February 8, 1932, in Rosewood, Florida, the daughter of Robert and Jessie Ingram. Viola graduated from Cedar Key High School, following graduation she married Edward Beckham and they settled in Cedar Key, FL where they worked as commercial fisherman and started their growing family. Thereafter they made a move to Rosewood, Fl where she lived in the same home for over 50 years. Throughout that time she was widowed and remarried to Mr. Macy Carroll, continued extending their family and working in the seafood business, everything from blue crabbing, to oyster harvesting and shucking. One of Violas proudest accomplishments was her children and grandchildren. She is survived by, Sidney Beckham, Bessie Beckham, Sally Hathcox, Jeanine Beckham, Nancy Beckham, Joanine Miller, Jaylene Carroll, Connie Rowe and Adam Carroll, in addition many grand and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Viola enjoyed attending the Baptist church of both Cedar Key and Rosewood. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, listening to country music, golf cart rides and visits with her family. She was and will continue to be admired, loved and cherished by many. A graveside service will be held at Shiloh Cemetery on Friday, June 28th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Knauff Funeral Home of Chiefland.
