Obituary
Michael "Mike" Edward Sirota, 69, of Williston, Florida, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 13, 2024, while at Haven Hospice in Chiefland. He passed peacefully with his wife by his side. In addition to his wife of 33 years, Debbie Sirota, Mike is survived by his son Christopher Sirota (Daisy), stepsons Jason Head (Candice) and Justin Head (Crystal), seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, father-in law James Lanier and many extended family members and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his mother Jeanne Fulghum, father Mert Sirota and mother-in-law Sylvia Lanier. Mike was born on December 9, 1954, in Eustis, Florida. His father was career military and he lived in many different places growing up, including several years in Okinawa. He met and married his wife while working at UF Health Shands, moved to and has been living in Williston since that time. Mike began his career as a paramedic, later became a respiratory therapist and then completely changed course to become an over the road truck driver. Mike was a hard worker and always willing to learn and try new things. He loved his family with everything in him and he would do anything for them. He made friends wherever he went. He also loved his two dogs, his "boys," Marshal and Hank. He had the biggest of hearts. His family and friends will miss him terribly, but we are happy that he is no longer in pain and know that he is rejoicing in Heaven. A memorial service will be held at Knauff Funeral Home in Williston on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 1:30 PM, with a visitation held 30 minutes prior. Pastor Wes Smith will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please consider donations to Haven Hospice. Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home of Williston. My family has known the Sirota family since the late 1960s, from living in Okinawa together. We always thought a lot of Mike. During that time I remember him to be charming, smart, handsome kind of the whole package. We are all heartbroken from his passing and know that he loved his family dearly. Gods blessings to his family for peaceful hearts.
