J.T. Crawford

James Troy Crawford "J.T." resident of Chiefland, Florida passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. He was 93 years old. J.T. was born on April 22, 1931 in Plant City, Florida to parents Daniel and Artie Crawford. J.T. has been a member of the community for over 50 years. He was a man of the Baptist faith and a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Chiefland. J.T. proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Squad Leader in the Korean War, during his time served he earned a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Award, and a National Defense Service Medal. J.T. is preceded in death by his sister Jeanette Knight and brothers Ola, Eason, Vernon, and T.H. Crawford. J.T. is survived by his wife Lillian; two sons Bryan and Everett Crawford; three daughters Barbara Gilbert, Brenda Jerrels and Janice Crawford; brother Lester Crawford; eighteen grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. J.T. was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed. A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 20, 2024 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Brother Sandy Bozeman will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. The family invites everyone to join them at the Ebenezer Baptist Church Fellowship Hall following the burial for a time of thanksgiving and remembrance of J.T. (No food will be served.)
