Samuel "Sam" Scott Fisher, 66, of Williston Florida, was taken unexpectedly to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 23, 2024. He was born on April 8, 1958 in York, Pennsylvania. In addition to his wife, Donna Fisher, Sam is survived by sisters-in-law Barb ODell (Rick), Connie Shuff, Cheryl Davis (James), and Jane Fisher; cousins Ed Alwine (Laura) and Cheryl Spicher; nieces, nephews, and numerous extended family members and friends. Sam was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Rupert) Shelly, his father, Charles Samuel Fisher, and his brother, Randy Fisher. Sam was employed at BAE in York, Pennsylvania from 1977 to 2003. He then moved to Florida and worked at the University of Florida in Gainesville from 2005 until his retirement in 2018. Sam was a 1976 graduate of York County Area Vocational Technical School and later graduated from York Technical Institute in 2005. Sam attended the Williston Church of God in Williston, Florida. Sam was a hardworking and determined man who accomplished anything he put his mind to. Nothing seemed to be too big a challenge for him. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and he loved to laugh! Sam was a wonderful husband who loved and cared deeply for his wife of 39 years. Some of Sams favorite things included riding motorcycles and traveling. Five years ago, he combined the two when he and his best buddy and longtime friend, Rod, rode their motorcycles to the Florida Keys. Favorite memories for Sam and Donna were an Alaskan wilderness cruise in 2016 which included killer whale and grizzly bear sightings, and a trip to the Colorado Rocky Mountains in 2017. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williston Church of God, 850 SW 7th Street, Williston, FL 32696. Arrangements are being handled by Knauff Funeral Home in Williston, FL. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Sam will be sorely missed and his memory cherished by all who knew him.

My dearest sister Donna, what a beautiful obituary. I remember his sence of humor and that laugh. Remember when we took the boat out and it drifted away from the pier because no one had the rope? OMG, priceless.... I think it was Pinchot State Park I can remember that like it was yesterday. There are so many more wonderful memories I will cherish. The look on his face holding the box of raw oysters in the shell we got him one year for Christmas. I will miss him dearly and am so sorry for your loss, family and friends. I love you sis. Donna,Sam, will truly be missed by all who new him. I liked Sam the frist time we meet.He always had a Smileand loved to "Laugh" and there were many laughs at that nut house that we worked at.Sam worked for me in the controls shop but i must say he should have been in charge.He was way better at His job than me. But thats why i choose him went he came to interview with us!! Sam was a self strater and a go getter and loved staying besy.I know that he loved Life and You his Wife.Sam was someone that brought you up even if you were haveing a bad day!! I will miss Sam, I was blessed in Knowing Him. Josh

My dearest sister Donna, we are so,so sorry for your loss of Sam..we will always remember his laugh and sense of humor..James remembers that no matter what the conversation was, he listened intently.. the memory of you, Sam, me and James coming down Connies "very icy" driveway still makes me laugh...We will cherish his memory forever and fondly.. . I'm so sorry for your loss. Sam taught me in the controls shop at UF when I first started. He has been missed ever since leaving. Prayers for your family during this time.
