William Weekly

William "Cowboy Bill" George Weekly, resident of Chiefland, Florida passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024. He was 77 years old. He was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on August 22, 1946 to parents Donald and Elsie Weekly. William retired from the United States Army where he was a Tank Commander. He was of the Baptist faith and has been a member of the community for over 20 years. William was also a member of the VFW Post 5625 in Chiefland, the American Legion in Old Town, as well as the Mooselodge Suwannee River Chapter 494. William enjoyed Karaoke (Cowboy Bill), cooking, and he loved to travel. William is preceded in death by his parents Donald Weekly and Elsie Weekly, and two sons Robert Thomas and Billy Thomas. William is survived by his wife of 42 years Caroline Weekly, son William George Weekly, Jr. and two daughters Angela Nora Weekly and Kimberly Jackson; one sister Janet Ann Neilson; two grandchildren Caden Lliam Weekly, Ryan Austin Thomas and one great grandson Adryan Lee Thomas. A funeral will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Knauff Funeral Home in Chiefland at 5:00 PM with a visitation held at 3:00 pm. A committal service will take place on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 10:00 am at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
