Donald Adams, Jr.

Donald W Adams, Jr. beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and lifelong friend to many, went to Heaven on May 3, 2024, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. Don, Jr. or Donny, as he was affectionately known, was born on July 30, 1957, in Rockville, Connecticut. In 1971, his family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he graduated Dixie Hollins High School in 1975 furthering his education at St. Petersburg College, earning an associate's degree in computer science. A proud disabled veteran, he served in the United States Navy and was retired in 1977. He went on to work with his father, Don Sr., helping to start the family business Adams Tank and Lift in 1979, where he was employed for many years as a Sales Manager until his retirement in 2016. An avid hunter and fisherman, Don found solace in the great outdoors. He had an uncanny ability for fixing anything that crossed his path. Whether it was tinkering with motors, boats, cars, appliances and more, Donny's dedication to detail knew no bounds. He and his wife Robin, settled in Old Pine Landing after his retirement where they enjoyed a wonderful community of great friends on the Suwannee River. A dedicated father, his love for his family was unparalleled, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Donny's circle of friends spanned decades, as he had a knack for making instant connections with everyone he met. His wisdom, wit and critical thinking skills were admired by many, and he was always ready to impart his expansive knowledge to his loved ones. Don leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and profound impact on those who loved him. He will be deeply missed by his family, his extended family, and community of friends. Don is survived by his mother, Jennie H. Adams of Pinellas Park, FL, his wife of over 38 years, Robin Adams, Old Town, FL, his sons Brian Adams (Ashlie) of St Petersburg, Fl, and Samuel Adams (Da'Vishia) of Pinellas Park, FL, his beloved grandsons Aamil, Wylder and Simeon; his sister Jill Graese (Larry) of Rapid City, SD, brothers James (Kelli) Adams, of Pinellas Park, FL and Andrew (Dafene) Adams of Safety Harbor, FL, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Winston Adams, Sr. He will be interred at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL after a military honors ceremony on May 24th at 11 am.
