Obituary
Dorothy Ann Utecht Barley, born February 6, 1939 of Williston, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024 at Haven Hospice of Chiefland. She was the daughter of the late Florian Utecht and Frances Modrzynski Utecht of Michigan. On November 18, 1965 she married the love of her life Dorman Jamie Barley. They were married for 58 years, and together they had 3 children. Dorothy is proceeded in death by her parents, son Kevin, and brother Johnny. She is survived by her husband, her sister Lorraine Szymanski (Gary), brothers Ken (Dede), Ron (Charlotte), and Jim (Lileen), daughters Jennifer (Porky) Strickland and Brenda (Don) Standridge. She is also survived by her grandchildren Lacey (Ryan), Shaina, Justin (Ashley), Jay (Carlee), Jackie, Dakota as well as 8 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends. Dorothy was a member of and attended mass regularly at Holy Family Catholic Church in Williston. They were very active and involved in their church for over 50 years. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Williston, followed by a graveside service at Orange Hill Cemetery. A Celebration of Life and lunch will be held at the home of Jamie Barley on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Haven Hospice.
