Vicki McBride

Vicki Lynn McBride, age 70, was called to her Heavenly Homecoming on April 30, 2024 at Halifax Hospice Care Center in Ormond Beach, FL. She was born in Panther, WV to Thurman and Dorothy Lockhart on February 12, 1954. Vicki was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Shawn Jackson; two brothers, Roger Lockhart and David Lockhart; and sister, Sue Lee. Vicki is survived by two grandchildren, Dustin Jackson (Samantha Morgan) and Julianna Carter (Dakota Madden) and four great grandchildren; Westin Jackson, Jonah Madden, Brooklyn Morgan, and Paisley Bevins. She is also survived by two sisters, Rhonda Lockhart and Lori Clark (Perry) and many nieces and nephews. Vicki graduated from Iaeger High School in 1972 and received her bachelors degree in accounting from Bluefield State College in 1993. Vicki was the proud owner of McBride Accounting Services in Welch, WV from December 2005 until she retired in September 2020. In 2010, she received the Businesswoman of the Year Award for McDowell County. Vicki also served on Welch City Council, 2014-2018. After retirement, Vicki moved to Flagler Beach, FL where she enjoyed morning walks on the beach, taking photos, and watching the surfers. She attended Hammock First Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her friends in the Connect Fellowship Group and her cherished McDowell Mollies. During the summers, she escaped the Florida heat to her second home on South Holston Lake in Abingdon, VA. She loved hosting family reunions and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. While summering in Abingdon, she attended Alvarado Bible Church. Vicki also loved to travel, the theater, and history. A graveside service will be held at Orange Hill Cemetery in Williston, FL on Saturday May 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM with a visitation held at 10:30 AM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV on May 7, 2024 at 6:00 PM. Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home & Fanning Funeral Home.
