Donald Carswell

Donald Smith Carswell (86) was born in Williston, FL on March 9, 1938 to William Edward and Blanche Hartley Carswell. Donald graduated from Williston High School in 1956. He married his high school sweetheart , Nancy Ann Guest on April 3, 1958. They lived together faithfully for 66 years in Williston, Ocala, and Morriston Fl. He worked for Yancy Lumber Co in Williston, and then moved to Ocala, where he worked for Ocala Lumber Sales Co. for 42 years. He retired in 2004 and moved to Morriston, FL, where he continued building many wood projects for others. In addition to woodworking, he enjoyed writing. He wrote and published the book "Its Ok To Weep: Finding Our Compassion For Others" and self published a book of his poems and short stories, "A Unique View with Words" He was baptized at the Morriston Church of Christ. Later in Ocala he became a part of Gods family at Maricamp Road Church of Christ, where he served faithfully as a deacon and then elder. He also taught Bible classes to different ages and served in many other roles serving God, the church family and others. He is survived by his wife Nancy Guest Carswell. His children, Deborah C. Lawson (Doug), Mark Carswell (Paula), Andrew Carswell(Tambra), and Daniel Carswell (Shay). Grandchildren: Mirranda C. Dodd, Chance Carswell, Kevin Carswell, Wyatt Carswell( Savanah) and Samantha Carswell. Great grandchildren, Blake and Tucker Dodd, Annalee and Leeland Carswell. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Blanche Carswell, son William Mikell Carswell, brother William Edward Carswell (Linda), and cousin Robert R. "Bob" Edmundson.
