William Jerkins, Sr.

William "Bill" Caulie Jerkins, Sr. passed away on Monday, February 5th at his home in Williston Florida. He was 75 years old. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife of 44 years, Eunice Jerkins; his son William "Billy" Caulie Jerkins, Jr. and his second wife of 7 years, Betty Jerkins. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy and her husband Steve Bloom, his granddaughters, Mikayla Jerkins, and Jessica and Elizabeth Bloom. Bill was born and raised in Lake City Florida. After graduating high school, Bill joined the US Air Force, ended up in California and met the love of his life, Eunice Ann Browning of Fayetteville, NC. After serving 7 years in the Air Force, he and Eunice ended up in Williston Florida where they settled next to his mother, Frances Wright, to raise their family. Bill worked different jobs in the beginning (peanut plant, farming), but soon ended up at his dream job, though he had no idea how much hed enjoy it when he first began. Bill was hired and worked for over 40 years for Williston Timber driving a log truck beginning in the summertime, he soon earned the CB Handle "Shady" because he was always looking for a shade tree. In fact, a lot of people only knew him as Shady. Bill was a member of the First Methodist Church, Williston, joining with Eunice in 2014. He had a tremendous love for his family, especially his granddaughters. He loved the outdoors, spending time with his family and being a Truck Driver! A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 8th at Knauff Funeral Home from 5-7pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 9th at 1pm at First Methodist Church in Williston followed by a graveside service at Orange Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that any donations be given to The First Methodist Church to be sent to the Florida Methodist Childrens Home in his memory. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Knauff Funeral Home Williston.
