Obituary

Joseph Douglas Calais, a resident of Reddick, Florida, passed away February 6, 2024. He was 76 years old. He was known to most as Doug. Dougs favorite thing to do was to be surrounded by his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He enjoyed spending time with his two dogs, Jacques and Jolie, and he also loved watching sports on the weekend. Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Holden and Alma Calais, brother Ralph Calais, and son Shawn Calais. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn A. Calais of Reddick, FL; daughter Sharminee Lopez married to Alvin Lopez Sr.; daughter Shayna Piccirello married to Tony Piccirello; son Shay Calais; grandchild Alvin Lopez Jr. married to Page Lopez; grandchild Alexa Calvo married to Blair Calvo; grandchildren Alec Lopez, Anthony Piccirello Jr., Allyson Piccirello, and Andon Piccirello; great-grandchildren Tripp, Laya, and Axel. Dougs wishes included no funeral service, so we will grant those wishes while continuing to honor his legacy through everyday life and cherish the memories we have with him.
