Frances Yates

Frances was born in Morriston, Florida and resided in Williston, Florida for most of her life. Frances loved the Lord with all of her heart and enjoyed every minute of life whether at work, home, with her family and friends, or in the mission field. She was a devoted mother and sister. Frances was preceded in death by her husband; Richard R. Yates, her father; Clayton Williams, her mother; Bertha Dyess -Williams, her sisters; Ruby Thomas, Betty King, Effie Foster, and her brother; Preston Williams. She is survived by her Daughter; Saundralynn "Saundra" Yates, and her sisters; Madell Bell, Creola Dees, Janice Philman, and Patricia Price. Frances served as an operator and a drafting clerk with Southern Bell for 30+ years, in Gainesville, Fla. and Raleigh, N.C. Frances has been a Member of Oak Park Baptist Church in Gainesville, Fl Since 2004. As a member she participated in foreign and local mission trips through the Southern Baptist Convention. Her mission trips included India, Jamaica, and at a Haitian Congregation in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, through the Oaks Church in Gainesville. She spent endless hours as a vital member of the Bus Ministry at First Baptist of Williston. Furthermore, she was very active in the Oaks Church and was always involved in the V.B.S. Programs and enjoyed doing crafts with the children. Frances assisted her pastor and led bible studies in the International Student ministry at the McGuire Village at the University of Florida. She and her mother also sang at the 5th Sunday night of Praise at the Oaks Church. She participated in the Cowboy Church local sings, as well as in the retirement community. Frances loved to travel and had opportunity to travel to Israel, Belgium, Egypt, Greece, and the Bahamas. She also took a special trip to a Russian Orphanage to assist her cousin in bringing her son Alexander home. She has left a memorable heritage of missions for her family and friends, and she radiated the message of: Matthew 28:19-20 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Knauff Funeral Home in Williston. Pastor Danny Austin will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Cherry Hill Cemetery in Morriston.
