Obituary
Leroy Hartoon went to live with our Lord on Thursday, November 30th, 2023. Leroy was born November 5th, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to Lee Ross Hartoon and Esther Eula Funchion Hartoon. After high school, Leroy worked as an orderly at Detroit Memorial Hospital. It was there that he met the love of his life, Dorothy Joanne Miller. Leroy and Joanne married in 1959. They remained in Michigan and raised their three children while Leroy proudly served the Ford Motor Company for 30 years until his retirement in 1997. He and his wife, Joanne, moved to Williston, Florida in 1999. Leroy had a passion for hunting, fishing, taking care of his yard, cracking corny jokes, and making people laugh. He leaves behind three children, Thomas Hartoon of Gaylord, Michigan, Christine Temple-Hartoon of Reddick, Florida, and Lawrence Hartoon of Tucson, Arizona; nine (9) grandchildren, and fifteen (15) great-grandchildren; sister Kathy Pohl of Williamston, Michigan; and two brothers, Jerry Kreager and Thomas Kreager of Detroit, Michigan. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Dorothy Joanne; his parents Lee and Esther; his sisters Jean, Madonna, and Elizabeth; and his brothers Robert, James, William, and Donald. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7th, 2023 from 4:00 PM 7:00 PM at Knauff Funeral Home in Williston, Florida. A funeral service will take place on Friday, December 8th, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Knauff Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at Orange Hill Cemetery in Williston, Florida. Pop will be greatly missed..... his jokes, his laugh, his sarcasm, his "critters", and all the text messages he would send that would make me laugh (and question his thoughts :D hahaha) Thank you for allowing me to be one of your "kids" for the past 17 years! RIP POP!!!
