Obituary
Luke Edward Hill Jr, age 46, a resident of Williston, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 25th, 2023, at his hunting camp, with his loving wife beside him. Luke was born in Henderson, KY on April 13th, 1977, to Luke Edward Hill Sr and Susan Waller. After high school, he enlisted in the Army out of Evansville, IN. Dedicating over 18 years of service and a Bronze Star Recipient, he completed 6 tours serving in Designated Imminent Danger Areas in Kuwait and Iraq. He supported several campaigns which included Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraq Freedom (OIF). Following his Military career, he worked as an Assistant Manager at Wal-Mart and then joined PMC Wiring Solutions, working with his best friend Josh Puckett. Luke was known as " one tough guy" that never backed down from any challenge. But most of us knew him as "that guy" you could call if you needed anything. He was always the voice of reason and had an uncanny way of calming you down and/or setting you straight either way he would earn your respect. He always loved to be at his hunting camp, bow hunting with his wife, shooting guns, but more importantly, he loved spending time with family and friends. Luke is preceded in death by his father, Luke Edward Hill Sr. As well as distant relatives and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Cassandra Hill (Swilley) and his two sons Gavin Hurtado (Samantha) and Cy Hill (Hailey). His mother, Susan Hill,(Sister) Misty, (Brothers) Curtis and Jonathan. Most importantly, he is forever missed by his grandchildren Keegan and Kambree Hill. There is no shortage of family and friends, he will be loved and missed by. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9th, 2023 at 11:00am at Orange Hill Cemetery in Williston, Florida with Military Honors. Honorary pallbearers are Gavin Hurtado, Cy Hill, Josh Puckett, Shaune Clark, Neil Cantley, and Doug Standridge. The family would like for you to join them for lunch and a celebration of life immediately following the services. Arrangements were entrusted to Knauff Funeral Homes LLC - Chiefland. I had the honor of being lukes daughter in law. He was the most protective papaw to my babies and he will be forever missed.
