Gerald Pittman

Gerald William "Bill" Pittman, 75, passed away on Friday, November 24th at Ayers Rehab Center in Trenton, Florida. He was born on April 23rd, 1948 in Gainesville, Florida. Bill loved his family, his church (Chiefland Methodist) and his hometown of Chiefland, Florida. When he was younger he worked with his aunt, Miriam Buchanan, at Suwannee Valley Florist and later at the Western Auto Store. He loved being a volunteer with the Chiefland Fire Department, watching football, collecting and tinkering with watches, and spending time with his grandmother, Iris Usher. He is predeceased by his wife, Louann Pittman; his father, William Pittman; and his mother and stepfather, Martha Pete Usher Lathrop and Lyle Lathrop. He is survived by his brothers Bruce (Marietta) Lathrop and Edwin Lathrop of Chiefland; nephews Brian, Shaun and Brody and their families and several cousins. His funeral will be held on Monday, November 27th at Chiefland Methodist Church at 2:00 PM, with a visitation from 1:00 PM 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at Chiefland Cemetery following the service.
