Norma Kalmar

Norma Jean Kalmar, 71, passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2026, at home in Morriston, Florida.

Jean was born in Pennsylvania to Norman and Dorothy (Paine) Wachter on April 16, 1954. She grew up and lived in Pennsylvania until she moved to Florida with her son and sister Carol in the early 90s. Later, she was joined by her sister Sandra, whom she lived with for many years. She was employed by Quest Diagnostics as a courier until a stroke forced her to retire. She was a member of the Morriston Church of Christ, and you would often find her at the kitchen table studying her Bible. In her free time, she enjoyed people watching, crafting, crocheting, and spending time with her family and pets.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Dorothy Wachter, her son Joseph Kalmar Jr., her siblings Norman Wachter, Robert Wachter, Sandra Taylor, and Carol Wachter.

Jean is survived by her son Kevin (Ashley) Kalmar, her grandchildren Kamryn Kalmar, and Weston Kalmar, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will he held at Morriston Church of Christ Friday, April 10, 2026, at 10:00 am.
