Woodrow Smith

Woodrow Hampton Smith, 75, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on November 2, 2023. He was born in Levy County on his grandfathers farm on November 9, 1947. Woodrow lived in the Tri-County area his entire life and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a platoon sergeant in his year of service in the Vietnam War and received two Bronze Stars. He ran a construction business with his brothers and then eventually with his two sons until his oldest son took over the business so Woodrow could retire. Woodrow is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Smith and Linnie Arrington Smith, his sister, Terri Sands, his wife Martha Rae Slaughter Smith, and his wife Andrea Darlene Thomas Smith. His memory will be carried on by his six brothers, his three children, Brian (Teresa), Todd (Yolanda), Kristen (Ross), his 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many more relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 5:30 pm at the Rafter Cross Cowboy Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Haven Hospice.
