Henry Heatherly, Jr.

Hank L. Heatherly Jr. Born March 5, 1947 in Hendersonville, NC to Henry L. Heatherly Sr. and Mary Fair Lanea Heatherly (Hyder). He moved to Florida in 1968 while serving in the U.S. Navy, where he served on the USS Saratoga and the USS John F. Kennedy. Upon his release, he attended the University of Florida, where he received a degree in Anthropology/Archaeology He worked for the State of Florida for 30 years and retired as Assistant Warden from the Florida Department of Corrections in 2009. He discovered the Nature Coast in 1974 and became a resident of Fowlers Bluff in 1994. His greatest joy was pontooning on the Suwanee River with the love of his life, Rhonda Heatherly, who were married standing in the river at Jacks Sand Bar. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Rhonda Heatherly; brother Wayne A. Heatherly; sons Henry (Hank) Heatherly III and Dennis R. Heatherly; and grandsons Austin C. Heatherly, Tanner D. Heatherly, and Reese N. Heatherly.
