Devon Fowler

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Devon Ray Fowler, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who passed away peacefully at home at the age of 82 with his family by his side. Devon was born on November 25, 1940, in Gulf Hammock, FL to Ella Estelle Baldree Fowler and Robert Leon Fowler. As a young adult he moved to Ft. Pierce, FL where he met the love of his life, Judy Lynn Fowler (nee Green). Devon and his father Robert traveled up and down the East coast to various farms where they produced packing crates with their crate making machinery. Devon and Judy married on August 10, 1963, and had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary before his passing. Devon and Judy eventually settled down in Hammonton, NJ where he was employed with Variety Farms, Inc. for 28 years before retiring and moving back to the town where he was born, Gulf Hammock, FL. During the years of his retirement, Devon worked with his friend, Fred Comer, at Comer Enterprises where they worked in the agricultural industry. During his early adult years, Devon served in the National Guard. He attended the Otter Creek Baptist Church where he enjoyed fellowship with lifelong friends. Devon was an avid Beekeeper and also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and family as well as looking for sharks teeth and other artifacts in the spring-fed creek behind his house. Devon was also a collector of firearms and other antiques and loved nothing more than spending time with his growing family during holidays and at the many family get-togethers and bingo games hosted at his house. Devon and Judy had 4 children together; Mark Shayne Fowler (deceased), Sherri Marie Hollinshead (Christian Carter), Bridgett Evon Domenico (Ramon Heredia, fiance) (Joseph Anthony Domenico, Jr.), and Jonathan Dean Fowler (Tanya Emily, nee Takeda). Devon is also survived by his 6 grandchildren; Devin Lynn Domenico, Jonathan Dean Fowler, Sarah Jeanette Domenico, Chelsea Lynn Hollinshead, Hailey Marie Fowler, and Madison Marie Domenico, and 3 great-grandchildren; Kyndal Grace Medeiros, Brielle Mae Root, and Zander Rosario. Other loved ones who Devon considered family are Calvin Louis Root, IV, Calvin Louis Root, V, Danny Rosario, Lilli Rosario, Jourdan Rosario, Dillon Montalvo, and Benjamin Ulrich. Devon was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was loved by so many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We all have comfort in knowing that he is resting in perfect peace with the Lord, our Father, until we meet again. Funeral services arranged by Knauff Funeral Home in Williston, FL will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Otter Creek Baptist Church located at 171 SW 3rd Street, Otter Creek, FL where a viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m.to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Rosemary Hill Cemetery, 355 E. Thrasher Drive, Bronson, FL directly following funeral services.
