Johnnie Watson

Johnnie Lucille Gilleon Watson passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023. She was born on October 10, 1939 in Ludowici, Georgia. At a young age, her family moved to High Springs, Florida remaining there until finishing High School. Johnnie married her beloved, Calvin "Cubby" Watson in 1977 and moved to Williston, Florida where they built their life together. She was a Legal Secretary for an Attorney but for most of her adult life she worked in the Medical Records Field working for Santa Fe Health Care and Shands until retirement. She was a country music fan and LOVED the Florida Gators following all Gator sports. For many years, she faithfully attended the college football games and was a Big Fan of Danny Wuerffel and Tim Tebow. Johnnie is preceded in death by Calvin "Cubby" Watson (husband), Elizabeth Barber (mother) and Curtis Barber (stepfather). She leaves behind Shirley Benson (sister), Ruthie Kendrick Deloca (sister) and several generations of nephews and nieces. A funeral service will be held at Knauff Funeral Home in Williston on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 4:00 pm. The family will receive friends one prior. Daniel Carswell will officiate. Burial will follow at the Orange Hill Cemetery in Williston. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Haven Hospice in Chiefland. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Knauff Funeral Home in Williston, Florida.
