Yvonne Bowden

Yvonne Hopping Bowden, loving wife, sister, mother, nanny, aunt toolie, and friend passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was 91 years old. She was born on October 19, 1931 in Bronson, Florida to Elizabeth and Leroy Godwin. Yvonne married Stiles Hopping in 1949. They were married for 53 wonderful years until he passed away in 2003. Together they had three handsome sons Dannie (Darlene), Wray (Gail), Wayne (Darlene) and two daughters Velma and Beck. Yvonne served the children of Williston for 30 plus years with a smile on her face as the lunchroom manager. When she wasnt working she enjoyed fishing with her three sons and loved anything outdoors. She married Leavitt Bowden in 2005 and gained two sons CE (Diane), Larry (Susan), and one daughter Cheryl (Dennis). She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, two daughter in laws, and a great grandson. Survived by her three sons and many grand, great and great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at the Williston Church of God on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 10:00 am with a visitation held one hour prior. Interment will follow at the Hickory Springs Cemetery in Romeo, Florida. Brothers Wes Smith and Keith Langford will officiate the service. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Knauff Funeral Home Williston.
