Doyle Swilley

DOYLE CHARLES SWILLEY, a man of many talents, and a head full of knowledge and wisdom, made his transition from life to death on August 14, 2023. Doyle was the son of Hugh B. Swilley and Ruby A. Curry Swilley from Levy County, Fl, address Trenton, Fl. Doyle was raised on the family farm with his brothers and sisters working very hard. He could run the tractor and plant and plow right up there with the best of them. He was a member of the 4-H club and the Future Farmers of America and one of the first to show animals at the Suwannee River Fair. He took to heart the 4-H Motto in "TO MAKE THE BEST BETTER" and he applied this all through his life. He graduated from Bronson High School. After graduation he went into the Army where he served his country in the U. S. and Germany. He enjoyed his time in Germany, both serving and visiting regions nearby. After coming home to Florida he went to his sister Rachels house in Mississippi, where he met his wife Nancy. He later moved to Virginia and went to work with Virginia Power where he became an Engineer working with them until his retirement. He moved back to Levy County upon retirement where he lived until his death. Doyle had many talents with woodworking being one of them. He made many extraordinary pieces to be enjoyed by his family and friends. He had an eye for detail which showed in his woodwork. He was exceptionally artistic in the pieces he made! He was a generous person and was always helping others. Doyle is survived by a son, Robert/Leslie Swilley and their 3 children and two great grands, all of Mississippi and by his late son Daniels wife Karyn and Daniels four children of Tennessee, one sister Ramona/James Beauchamp, of Chiefland, Fl and one brother Niven Swilley of Trenton, Fl, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Roger Swilley and Tillman Swilley, and by two sisters Janice Swilley and Rachel Chambliss, and his son Daniel Swilley. Funeral services will be arranged by Knauff Funeral Home of Chiefland, Florida. There will be a visitation for friends and family beginning at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 19, 2023, and the funeral service for Doyle will be at 3:00 PM at Knauff Funeral Home Chapel following the visitation.
