Donna Lee Hammell, 87, of Bronson, Florida, passed away on April 8, 2026. She was born on October 16, 1938, in Miami, Florida, to Duanne and Pearl Grubbs.
Donna moved to Levy County in 1972, where she became a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Bronson. She had a generous spirit and gave back to her community through her volunteer work at the Bronson and Williston Public Libraries. Donna cherished the many joyful memories she made with the Red Hat Ladies, and she had a special love for her cats, who brought her great comfort and happiness.
Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Forest Harry Hammell; her parents, Duanne and Pearl Grubbs; and her siblings, John and Betty.
She is survived by her loving sons, Bret Hammell and Eric Hammell; her grandchildren, Rebecca Hammell, Emily Hammell, and Blake Hammell; and her sister, Sandra Pebble.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Bronson, with Pastor John Coker officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow immediately afterward at Rosemary Hill Cemetery in Bronson, Florida.
