Obituary
On June 26th, 2023, John "Ben" Benton Lewis, a longtime resident of Williston, Florida, A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend went to be with the lord. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Delilah Lewis, four daughters Sheila Lewis, Deborah Snyder (David), Tina Sheppard (Kevin), Amy Lewis Jones and two sons John V Lewis and James B Lewis, thirteen grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He touched so many in his 75 years. He was known for his passion for cars, loving embrace, willing to help anyone in need and was always the peacemaker. He was the light that lead the way and the rock that gave us something to stand on. Pops was one of the greats, loving, caring, kind, gentle, family man. Who will surely be missed. He was a man who sacrificed more than anyone will ever know because of and for his family. We were always his Angels and now he's ours. Knauff Funeral Home is honored to serve the Lewis family during their time of transition.

Every time I saw Ben, he always had a smile and willing to talk cars, and family. I know he will be missed, but God was ready for him.

Moments of WeaknessMoments of weakness, staring at the full moon. Wishing you were sitting along side of me, comforting me, in this current state of mind and mood. The gentle brush of your hand on my face, with a subtle hug illuminating love in your embrace. That feeling of comfort that no one will ever be able to replace.I sit and ponder upon your words of wisdom, while reflecting on how many you touched with grace and devoted attention. Your actions and words were effortless, with geniality that all should acknowledge and not displace.Incompleteness consumes my sole, attempting to understand how to let you go. This day marks my initial attempts on your birthday, but Im not making much headway. You were my rock and burning fire to be my best running through my blood and soul. Striving for excellence while being there for everyone, and accepting not getting anything in return.I love you beyond measure and pray to see you again one day. Holding you close each and every moment of my existence on earth until we receive each other again. With open arms, and smiles that can not be duplicated, I miss you more than ever and just want you here with me.I love you. Memories and attempts to understand with weakness, are all that replay through my thoughts right now. Ongoing want for your embrace and missing you continuous without having you in person to kiss your face, and say Happy Birthday.

-A. Jones10/26/2023
